How to Connect Your EFTPOS Terminal to Simple Salon

How to Connect Your EFTPOS Terminal to Simple Salon

Last week, we covered what integrated payments actually means – and why it is worth setting up in your salon. This week, we are doing the thing.

Here is exactly how to connect your EFTPOS terminal to Simple Salon, step by step. Whether you are on Tyro or ANZ Worldline, we have got you covered. Set aside five minutes and you will be done.

Before you start: what you will need

Regardless of your payment provider, you will need two things.

Your Merchant ID (MID). This is your unique business identifier with your payment provider. You will find it on your terminal receipt, in your merchant portal, or by calling Tyro or ANZ Worldline support.

Your Terminal ID (TID). This identifies your specific terminal device. Also on your terminal receipt – usually printed at the top.

Got those? You are ready.

Connecting Tyro to Simple Salon

Tyro is one of Australia’s most popular independent EFTPOS providers, and Simple Salon’s integration with Tyro is direct and fast.

Step 1: Open Simple Salon and go to My Accounts → Add Ons

Step 2: Select Tyro as your payment provider

Step 3: Click Authorise POS – this opens a pairing screen

Step 4: Enter your Merchant ID (MID) and Terminal ID (TID)

Step 5: On your Tyro terminal, follow the pairing prompt

Step 6: Confirm the pairing in Simple Salon – you will see a success confirmation

That is it. From this point forward, when a client checks out in Simple Salon, the total is sent directly to your Tyro terminal. They tap, transaction completes, done.

A note on Dynamic Surcharging: If you would like to pass card processing fees to clients, Tyro supports dynamic surcharging through Simple Salon. This can be enabled in your Tyro settings – their team can walk you through it.

Connecting ANZ Worldline to Simple Salon

ANZ Worldline is the bank-backed payment processing solution used by thousands of Australian businesses. Simple Salon connects to ANZ Worldline.

Step 1: Ensure your ANZ Worldline terminal is connected to your local network (same network as your Simple Salon device)

Step 2: Open Simple Salon and go to My Accounts → Add Ons

Step 3: Select ANZ Worldline as your payment provider

Step 4: Enter your terminal’s IP address and port number (available from your ANZ terminal settings or ANZ support)

Step 5: Test the connection – Simple Salon will confirm when it is live

Step 6: Process a test transaction to confirm the flow end to end

Once connected, the process is identical to Tyro: Simple Salon sends the total, client taps, done.

What happens at checkout once you are connected

Old process: Staff member reads total from Simple Salon → types it into terminal manually → client taps

New process: Staff member completes invoice in Simple Salon → taps “Process Payment” → total appears automatically on terminal → client taps → done

The only new step for staff is pressing “Process Payment” in Simple Salon. Everything else is handled automatically. Most teams adapt in the first session.

✦ Troubleshooting
The most common setup issues: wrong MID or TID (double-check both against your terminal receipt), network issues for ANZ Worldline (ensure both devices are on the same local network), and terminal not in pairing mode for Tyro. Still stuck? Simple Salon’s support team can walk you through it.

If you have followed the steps above, your terminal is now connected to Simple Salon. Every payment from here goes across automatically. Need help? Contact Simple Salon support →
